Planting Seeds..

I have the privilege of serving as Chair of the Board of Aniz, Inc with a very dedicated group of people. They are always willing to work diligently to ensure the sustainable operations of the organization. In addition, they have been innovative with ideas with regards to fundraising and making people aware of who we are and what we are doing for the metropolitan Atlanta communities that we serve year round. Our Annual Silent Auction, AIDS Walk Party and Holiday Party have been used to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS in the community, the need for advocacy and prevention and raise funds raised to benefit those who are in most need of our.

This week is National Condom Week, a perfect time to discuss the continuing problem of HIV/AIDS in the African American community. We can say this discussion started last week for National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) and will continue next month for National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD).
