National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

As we prepare to observe National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Feb 7, it is my sincere hope that we will take use this day to focus on what we can do to stop the spread of a virus that has already reached epidemic proportions in our communities. Last weekend, I worked on documents that track the number of people who come to Aniz for assistance and the number of men and women who are HIV-positive was a sign that we really need to take an active, aggressive approach to help reduce the number of people who are contracting this virus. We should be aware of this virus every day of our lives and we should never stop trying to defeat it. We should practice safe sex and make sure to instill it in our children and their friends the importance of safe sex. Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something. Please let February 7, 2010 be the day when your alarm goes off and you wake up, ready to march into battle and claim victory over HIV/AIDS.
Aniz was formed in 1996 as a Non-profit, 501 (c) (3) human services organization to be a resource to all multi-cultural communities and organizations dedicated to meeting their needs. Please support us with your time and money so that we can remain an integral part of the communities we serve that heavily rely on our resources. So we continue to raise HIV/AIDS awareness in our communities EVERYDAY.
