This week is National Condom Week, a perfect time to discuss the continuing problem of HIV/AIDS in the African American community. We can say this discussion started last week for National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) and will continue next month for National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD). I am Angela Rowe, Chair of the Board of Directors for Aniz, Inc. I decided to become involved with Aniz because I am concerned about the alarming number of people in our community who are contracting HIV/AIDS and because I felt a strong obligation to donate back to the community. (more…)
