We operate in Atlanta, Georgia, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Holly Springs, Mississippi.
We provide individualized and group counseling sessions for HIV+ low-income individuals who reside in the metropolitan Atlanta area through Ryan White Part A funding.
Aniz provides community-based services to people infected with HIV/AIDS or at high risk for infection. Services are provided on an outpatient basis and include: 1. Education - Aniz offers HIV/AIDS, STI, Hepatitis C and pregnancy prevention programs to increase community knowledge regarding these issues and reduce the likelihood of people engaging in risky behaviors. 2. Prevention - Aniz works with faith-based and other community-based agencies to raise awareness of the impact of HIV/AIDS within the community and to provide HIV testing and condom negotiation skills to reduce transmission of HIV/AIDS 3. Advocacy - The agency has a program designed for HIV+ women to become agents within the community to reduce the factors that result in the high rates of HIV among women in Atlanta. 4. Therapeutic Interventions - The agency offers individual and group counseling sessions for those with histories of mental illness and/or substance abuse that are at high risk for HIV or HIV+ 5. Support Groups - The agency offers weekly peer-led support to persons living with HIV/AIDS in order to share commonalities of living with this disease and increase self-efficacy to improve their quality of life living with HIV/AIDS.
.... through our programs for children with We Want To Know and Adolescent Females Learning About Sexual Health, our older population with Grandparents' Hands, women with Reaching Out to Sisters with HIV/AIDS and the greater community with our Holistic HIV Reduction Program and our Substance Abuse Treatment and Counseling for HIV/AIDS.
A primary goal of Aniz is to be a resource to the community and to those organizations dedicated to meeting their needs. Our diverse staff of professionals know the needs, understand the barriers, and know how to affect change within our community.
We also know that HIV/AIDS and its risk factors affects us all. We are proud of our culturally competent staff and culturally relevant services.
